Patricia 'Tish' Jacobs (Head Trainer and Instructor)

Why did you become a riding instructor?

I have always loved horses and teaching students to ride. Growing up in England, I was taught discipline and respect for the horses. Having been a high school teacher for 23 years gave me the confidence I needed to teach and train horse people to love and respect their horses with kindness. Which in turn made T.L.C. the barn it is today.

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?

Nothing, I love what I do.

What are your future plans?

I plan to ride and teach horsemanship as long as possible.

What is your biggest success?

Seeing a new rider turning into a great horse person. Watching them master the correct position and feeling comfortable with their horse. Whether pleasure riding or horse shows, helping to bring each rider to their best potential.

What words of wisdom would you like to share?

Be passionate about horses. Treat them as you would want to be treated. With kindness, respect and most of all patience.
